DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2025.5602

ABSTRACT: The street food industry plays a significant role in Malaysia’s informal food sector, offering convenient, affordable, and culturally rich meal options. This research examines how food quality factors (including taste, healthiness, variety, freshness, and presentation) affect customer satisfaction and the intention to repurchase, focusing on street food consumption in Malaysia. Customer satisfaction is also examined as a mediating variable in the relationship between food quality and repurchase intention. A total of 384 responses were collected using a structured questionnaire and analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The data were analyzed, and the primary findings were assessed to explore the relationship between food quality attributes and both customer satisfaction and repurchase intention. From the results, all food quality attributes were found to have a significant positive effect on customer satisfaction, with variety emerging as the most influential factor. Additionally, customer satisfaction significantly predicted repurchase intention and successfully mediated the relationship between individual food quality attributes and customers repurchase behavior. These findings highlight the critical role of upholding high food quality standards in boosting customer satisfaction and loyalty in the street food sector. The study offers valuable insights for street food vendors and policymakers in improving service quality and sustaining business growth in Malaysia’s informal food industry.

Amal Obaikah A. Alshammari & Mahmoud Abdelhamid Saleh

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2025.5610

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of customers’ price fairness, product quality, and packaging fitness on repurchase intention for coffee-shop products, and how the gender and age of consumers moderate these relationships. Data were collected from a snowball sample of 302 coffee shop respondents in Saudi Arabia (e.g., barns, drip, half 1/2, Pick, address cafe, and OMORE). The researchers used an online survey to collect the data required for statistical analysis. Strict measures were used for the reliability and validity of the research scales, and partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the research hypotheses. The findings revealed the significance of price fairness, packaging fitness, and product quality in influencing the repurchase intention of coffee shop products. Specifically, packaging fitness and product quality had a greater impact on repurchase intention than did price fairness. Gender and age had insignificant moderating roles in the studied relationships. The results provide valuable insights for managers and marketers to enhance consumers’ potential to repurchase coffee-shop products by focusing on distinguishing packaging materials, ensuring product quality, and setting fair prices. This study contributes to the understanding of consumer behavior in the context of coffee-shop products, particularly in Saudi Arabia, and adds to the existing knowledge on the factors influencing consumers repurchase intention.

11. Factors affecting earning managements of construction firms: Evidence from Vietnam

Thi Lam Anh Nguyen 1 and Phuong Thao Huyen Le 2

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2025.5611

ABSTRACT: The objective of this study is to analyze the factors that influence earnings management behavior among listed construction companies in Vietnam. This study uses data from 29 listed construction firms from 2019 to 2023. To measure the extent of earnings management, the study employs the Modified Jones Model (1995) and further applies the Feasible Generalized Least Squares (FGLS) method to evaluate the impact of various factors on the level of such behavior. Regression results generated using STATA 17 indicate that four out of the six tested variables— firm size, profitability, board size, and audit quality—along with two control variables, operating cash flow and revenue growth–significantly influence the degree of earnings management within the sample. Specifically, firm size, profitability, board size, and revenue growth exhibit positive relationships with earnings management, whereas audit quality and operating cash flow have negative effects. Based on these findings, this study offers several policy implications for regulatory authorities, audit firms, construction enterprises, and investors to mitigate opportunistic earnings management practices and improve financial reporting reliability.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2025.5613

ABSTRACT: This study examined the effects of volatility in the prices of cryptocurrencies on stock market performance in Nigeria using monthly data for the period 2016 to 2024. The study was based on the financial contagion theory. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag, Dynamic ARDL and Granger causality tests were employed to analyse the data. Cointegrating long-run relationship was found exists between stock market performance and volatility in cryptocurrency prices. The regression results indicate that the effect of cryptocurrency price volatility on stock market performance was positive for all cryptocurrencies except Ripple. Additionally, the short-run effects were more pronounced compared to the long-run effects. Evidence of spillover effects from volatility shocks in the cryptocurrency market to the stock market was observed, with the stock market responding positively to positive shocks in cryptocurrency volatility and vice versa. A bi-directional causality was also found between volatilities in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Coin, and stock market performance, while no causality was observed between Ripple and stock market performance. Policymakers should develop comprehensive guidelines for cryptocurrency trading and integration with the financial market to mitigate volatility risks and their spillover effects between the cryptocurrency market and the stock market, to improve financial market stability. Also, investors and portfolio managers should promote portfolio diversification strategies to capitalize on short-term gains from cryptocurrency-induced stock market surges while cushioning against potential volatility-driven losses.

ABSTRACT: In the modern business environment, corporate social responsibility emphasizes ethical behavior, transparency and accountability. For effective corporate governance, ensuring a diverse, independent board of directors and engaging with stakeholders, including shareholders, employees, customers and the community, is essential. In the oil and gas industry, CSR plays a particularly important role because businesses operate in an environment with high risks to the environment, occupational safety and community relations. Using STATA 17 software, the author found three factors that positively affect (Board size, Audit, Profitability) and one factor that negatively affects the level of information disclosure on social responsibility at Vietnamese oil and gas enterprises.

15. Breaking the glass ceiling: How 21st century women have excelled in leadership

Samantha Runyararo Musekiwa 1, Joyce Previledge Chigodora 2 and Paul Nemashakwe 3

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2025.5615

ABSTRACT: The proverbial 'glass ceiling' has long symbolised the invisible barriers that impede women's advancement to top leadership positions within organisations, despite their abilities, qualifications and past achievements. Recent studies have underscored the positive impact that female leadership has had on organisational performance and societal well-being. The 21st century has seen an increased number of women breaking the proverbial glass ceiling and excelling in various sectors and endeavours. This paper explored how these women have broken the glass ceiling and excelled in leadership, the challenges they have faced and the role that organisations can play to support them. Research has consistently shown that diverse leadership teams, which include women, are more likely to generate innovative solutions and ideas. Studies show that companies with diverse leadership teams perform better financially and have stronger corporate governance. Despite progress, women continue to face invisible yet formidable barriers in leadership. Unconscious bias, societal expectations, and outdated organisational structures can hinder their advancement, forcing them to navigate a labyrinth of challenges. Irrespective of the barriers, women across the globe have employed various strategies to break the glass ceiling, with case studies illustrating their effectiveness in both developed and developing countries. Organisations have a critical role to play in promoting women's leadership by creating an enabling and inclusive environment that fosters diversity and offer equal opportunities for both genders.

ABSTRACT: The type of qualitative research through a phenomenological approach, the results of the study indicate that traditional food sellers in Makassar manage their finances simply, with fluctuating daily income. The main problem is the inseparability between personal and business finances and the lack of structured records, which makes it difficult to evaluate financial performance. To improve financial management, sellers can keep better records, separate personal and business finances, and utilize technology and financial management training. In this way, they can improve personal welfare and the local economy, The financial management of traditional food sellers in Makassar City has advantages and disadvantages that affect the sustainability of their business. 20. Is ECOWAS Eclipsing or Reinventing? State Fragility and the Fragmentation of Regional Integration in West Africa (2020-2025)

1 Bamikole Martins Aduloju; 2 Ayodeji Anthony Aduloju; 3 Omolara Victoria Akinyemi

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2025.5620

ABSTRACT: This research examines the persistent regional challenges troubling ECOWAS from 2020 to 2025. The primary emphasis is on the vulnerability and impending disintegration within this regional organisation. The research uses the Fragile States Theory and the Complex Interdependence Theory as guiding frameworks to examine how political instabilities, economic problems, and weak governance have undermined several attempts to achieve sustainable regional integration in West Africa. It corroborates this premise, which holds that state fragility is detrimental to regional stability and integration. Furthermore, it subscribes to the position that interdependencies can aggravate the vulnerabilities of regional organizations rather than foster cooperation. The study broadens the argument on the premise that regional integration can collapse due to internal and external pressures. This further creation of vulnerabilities destabilizing regional integration is a function of the continued fragility of member states and weak political strategies by ECOWAS, as evidenced in the discourses presented. Thus, it is concluded that, with these crises facing West Africa, there probably would not be a certain future for regional unity. Besides, the notion of a cohesive ECOWAS would always be at the mercy of threats from states' internal and regional dynamics.

21. THE EARLY CHRISTIAN AND THEIR HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE IN THE SPREAD OF CHRISTIANITY

JAMES ARUMA ILARIOUS

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2025.5621

ABSTRACT: Christianity as we see it today has passed through difficult painful stages of its existence, right from its inception as a world religion. It was started by Jesus Christ, the proclaimed Savior of the world and His immediate co-workers, the twelve disciples, whom He commissioned (Matthew 28:19-20) to continue the work after the lapse of His earthly ministry. He promised them the Holy Spirit, who would be their helper, guide, counselor, and strengthener in every situation they find themselves. This study is to critically examine the historical roles and importance of some early Christian Church centers in the roles they played in the spread of Christianity. Primary and secondary sources of research will be used in the study. The findings of the study include: persecution as a catalyst in the spread of the Gospel and extension of Christianity to other places; the beginnings of theological institutions and the rise of theological writings; beginnings of Missionary expansion work to the Gentiles; the use of Latin as language of worship and its effects; the translation of the Hebrew Bible into Greek at Egypt and many more. The recommendations include: the use of proper evangelistic methods of evangelism; the use of the language of the people to enhance proper understanding and assimilation of the Gospel; and the robbing of the Church from its ecclesiastical responsibility by the state.

22. Psychological Test Results as Predictors of Academic Performance of CCE First-Year Students

Randy F. Ardena, MCS

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2025.5622

ABSTRACT: Mental capacity, depression, and low self-esteem can affect young adults' learning and cognitive capacities, which may affect their academic performance. This study examined the connection between students' academic success and mental and emotional health. The data samples come from several degree programs offered by the College of Computing Education at the University of Mindanao, including the Bachelor of Science in Education and Multimedia Computing, the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and the Bachelor of Science in Library and Information Science. The data were statistically analyzed using frequency, Mean, Standard Deviation, Pearson correlation, Multiple Linear Regression. Mental capacity, depression, and self-esteem are associated with participants' academic performance and are identified as psychological functioning factors used in the test. Academic performance was measured using Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM), while the indicated indicators were calculated using the College Adjustment Scale (CAS). SPSS (version 26-2018) was applied to analyze the collected data. RESULTS: Studies show that mental capacity and academic achievement are significantly positively correlated (r = 0.32; p = 0.00), and a strong mental ability translates into higher academic success. The relationship between depression and academic achievement is inverse (r = -0.34, p = 0.00). Depressive symptoms have a detrimental effect on student performance and hinder academic achievement. Furthermore, academic achievement and self-esteem have a negative association (r = - 0.26, p = 0.00), indicating that poor self-esteem tends to lower academic success. The findings imply that pupils are likely to do better academically when they receive emotional support to increase their self-confidence. Students who experience low rates of depression perform well academically and make informed decisions about their degree programs, taking aptitude and ability into account.

ABSTRACT: This article examines the rapid growth of social media users in Indonesia and explores how these trends are transforming digital marketing strategies in 2024. Drawing on comprehensive secondary data from industry analytics and digital reports, the study describes key demographic shifts, user behavior patterns, and platformspecific engagement metrics. Major social media platforms, including TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, are analyzed to determine their respective impacts on audience reach and content consumption, with a special focus on the rising popularity of short-form video content. The research identifies a significant increase in active social media users, driven largely by mobile-first consumption and the dynamic content preferences of younger demographics. The findings reveal that platforms like TikTok are not only attracting substantial user bases but also fostering higher interaction rates compared to traditional media channels. As a result, digital marketing efforts have increasingly pivoted toward tailored video campaigns and innovative influencer collaborations, which are proving effective in engaging the target market and boosting brand visibility. In conclusion, this study underlines the need for digital marketers to adapt their strategies to accommodate the evolving landscape of social media in Indonesia. ABSTRACT: Mathematics is a science that cannot be separated from human life. It is also applied in various aspects of daily life, one of which is in the activities of fishermen in the community. The purpose of this study is to describe the Local mathematical reasoning behind stocking rates, feed calculation, harvesting schedules, and yield forecasting in the activities of caretaker or pond owner. The method used is ethnographic research design, in which relevant data is collected through recordings, observations, and documentations then analyzed and finally concluded descriptively. The results showed that ethnomathematics activities in the fishing activities of the fishermen included manual counting of fingerlings, estimation in purchasing of fingerlings, number of feeds for bangus feeding, as well as buying and selling activities in the market which involved mathematical concepts. As concluded by the researchers, this study showed significant mathematical concepts for the pond owners and caretakers relating ethnomathematical concepts, as well as giving suggested ways or practices that may its community could adapt in the field of aquaculture specifically nurturing and producing Chanos Chanos or bangus fish. This study recommends all future researchers to go deeper in reaching the necessary mathematical concepts that are relevant to Math Education using ethnomathematics.

ABSTRACT: As we see Mathematics as part of our everyday life and culture, it becomes important to study ethnomathematics. This helps us understand how different communities use and express Mathematics in ways that are meaningful to them. This study aims to identify the ethnomathematical concepts in constructing the water gates (Trampahan) and its impact in fish growth and farm productivity of Brackish Water Fish Culture in Banate, Iloilo. This research looks at the math ideas in these cultural practices of constructing the Trampahan to help improve math education and support fish farming. This qualitative ethnographic study as researchers as the main instrument, gathered data through interviews, observation, and photographic and video documentation. The results, data presentation, discussions and conclusions were carried out for each analysis. The results show that there are mathematical concepts rooted in constructing every part of the Trampahan (water gates). There are mathematical concepts, including symmetry, ratio and proportion, quadrilaterals, angles and length measurements with non-standardized units. These results showed that in constructing the Trampahan and its impact in fish growth and farm productivity had a geometric sense through the local measurement of pond areas, control water levels, and time their operations based on natural patterns reflects how math is used in everyday life outside the classroom. These math concepts embedded in constructing a Trampahan can be used as a contextualized lesson specifically in Geometry. This study, we see the presence of ethnomathematics, a mathematical idea found in their cultural practices in fishing.

ABSTRACT: This study investigates the indigenous knowledge and integrate it to academic mathematics with the use of ethnomodeling in the context of the traditional practices of milkfish farming in Banate, Iloilo. It focuses on local fish stocking methods specifically the techniques of bansutan and larguhan. It seeks to uncover the underlying mathematical concepts that inform to these practices and analyze the impact in fish production. Employing a qualitative ethnographic research design, the study involved six experienced participants consisting of pond owners and fishermen and used semi-structured interviews, direct observations, and focus group discussions to collect qualitative information. Thematic analysis informed using ethnomodeling led to the identification and interpretation of traditional mathematics practices like estimation, measurement, and ratio use that exposed the symbiotic relationship between local cultural practices and formal mathematical structures. This research not only to highlight the relevance of ethnomathematics in promoting culturally responsive mathematics education, but also speaks to the necessity of integrating indigenous knowledge systems into aquaculture business planning and sustainable resource management. The findings contribute to the broader theme of localized curriculum design mandated by the Philippine Department of Education, and aligned these cultural practices in fish stocking to the most essential learning mathematics competencies.
